"Following the establishment of contact with HCJB, their engineer also contacted Shell Mera, the Missionary Aviation airfield Base, some 100 miles south of Quito, where the girls were staying and in this way, be relaying messages from Seattle to Quito and from Quito to Shell [sic] Mera there was set up in effect a direct contact the parents in Seattle and the young women in Shell Mera."
